Welcome to the Multicultural Blog Hop

Hello! Aloha! G’Day! Hola!

I am excited to participate in the Crafty Collaborations International Blog Hop team!  Today we bring you a variety of paper crafting projects that acknowledge, how through diversity, we are a stronger community!

As an educator, I build my classroom community every year ensuring that all voices are heard and honored.  We spend time not only sharing our thoughts and perspectives, but learning that everyone learns differently, acts differently, needs different support, and learns in their own time.  It is with this same spirit that I created these projects to share with you today!

Diversity through Creativity FREE PDF

The projects that I am going to share with you today all use a FREE Stampin’ Up downloadable tutorial!  Yes, that’s right!!  The FREE PDF is available for download in the side bar of this post!  Simply click on the picture, download, print on cardstock, and start crafting!

Creating Projects

Are you ready to get started?  After I printed off the PDF, I cut out all the images and the English text, as this FREE PDF has sentiments in several languages.  To help with your designs, the cover page for this PDF recommends a variety of colors to match the sentiment colors.  No guess work here!  I used this as my guide when coloring the images with my Stampin’ Blends and take advantage of the multicolor options to get some nice color and depth while adding dimension.

I’ve got to say, there is something about coloring that is relaxing.  My students always enjoy class projects that involve some type of art medium.  As adults, we don’t take the time to sit down and enjoy “art”.  This is one of the reasons I enjoy paper crafting.  I feel like I can be a kid and have no other worries in the world.

I decided to experiment by adding more interest to the images and sentiments.  I had some scrap designer series paper on hand, so I included this on some cards and kept with the overall color scheme. These cards could be easily packaged for a gift.  I really like how these turned out!

I love how these notecards turned out!  I used the flowers and along with the Scalloped Contours dies to create the set of cards.  I even created an inside panel with the dies to make these notecards extra special.  Again, another gift idea.

Once I completed the coloring for each set of cards, all I did was add the picture to a card base, add an embellishment to dress up the card, an inside panel, and viola!  Complete!

I worked on these card sets over a couple of days, as I was happy to spend time coloring, relaxing, and seeing the finished project.  Check out all the projects I created in the gallery below!!

Time to Hop

WOW!!  Just like that, some beautiful cards to share with friends and family that celebrate diversity and creativity!

Now it’s time to start checking out the rest of the team’s creations!!  Go ahead!!  Start your trip around the world to learn more about diversity, creativity, and be inspired to pull out your own art materials!!
