When I saw this Paper Pumpkin kit, I was drawn to the mountains and evergreen trees. I loved how these earthy materials layered to create a beautiful background. Living in Alaska, I knew I wanted to add some Alaskan features to this card.
I decided to change the background to create a beautiful sunrise. I used a sponge dauber to layer and blend colors: Daffodile Delight, Mango Melody, Blushing Bride, and Marina Mist. Working in a consistent swirling motion and merging the lines, I was able to create a beautiful sunrise on a summer Alaska morning.
I absolutely love, love, love the mountains and lakes we have here in Alaska. I wanted to add some depth to this card, so I flicked the edges of these pieces with coordinating colors to add a highlight. This actually adds another layer of depth for the eye to view. Absolutely beautiful!
You can check out the original Paper Pumpkin video to see exactly how the kit was designed. I used the basic design elements from this kit (CASE: Copy and Share Everything), but I changed up some components to personalize the cards to my liking.
