FUN Under the Northern Lights!

Playing in the Arctic

When I saw this stamp set, I HAD to get it!!!   I do live in Alaska and bears are our neighbors.  These bears are adorbs!!!  I knew right away I was going to create a northern lights scene with these bears.  Creating this scene certainly is a realistic one often seen in Alaska.

Northern Lights

When I created this card, I used the blending brushes and inks.  I used three colors to build the northern lights: Night of Navy, Bermuda Bay, and Daffodil Delight.  Sometimes the colors mix and a purple or pink is created.

Once the ink is added to the blending brush,  I used a consistent circular movement and layered inks while moving in a ribbon form.  Overlapping inks also adds another dimension represented in the natural northern lights seen in Alaska.  I was very happy with the results using this technique.  If you have ever seen the northern lights, they are absolutely stunning as a billowing ribbon across the sky.

Watch Out for the Bears!

These bears are adorable!!!  An adult bear and cub are perfect for this snowy scene.  Although these polar bears are shown in this picture, these bears (especially the cub) can also be black or brown bears with a little adjustment to the color.  Add some pine trees and mountains . . . and just like that . . . another natural scene is created with other bears seen in Alaska.
