Father’s Day Collage

Father’s Day Inspiration

Over the years, I have enjoyed creating Father’s Day cards.  I remember as a little girl making handmade cards for my parents.   They always enjoyed receiving the special cards.  This is the reason I continue making cards today.  Every person who receives a handmade card, knows the cards was made with love.  Even though my dad is no longer with us, I still create cards for all the “special guys” in my life: father-in-law, brothers, godfathers, uncles, and friends.  Today I’m sharing a variety of cards that I have made for my loved ones over the past couple of years.  I seem to always have an extra one on hand.  The stamps I used for these cards have been retired; however, I hope that each card inspires you to create a special one for your loved ones.  With that said, if you see a card you like, I do have these available in my Etsy store for purchase.

This card was created with an assortment of designer series paper made into banners, a Father’s Day poem, and some candy dots to embellish this card.  I chose to use earthy colors:  greens, blues, yellows, tan, black, and white to create this card.  A little foil banner is added to give this card some sparkle.

The poem reads:

Father, a father is someone who listens with his heart, speaks with his hugs, and teaches not by words, but by example.

Who doesn’t love a great BBQ?  This charcoal grill card is created with punch art.  This means that I used a variety of card stock colors to punch out shapes and piece together this design. This is a favorite card for the dad that enjoys a great BBQ.  Perhaps dad is receiving some BBQ supplies this year?  Won’t this be a fun card to go with it?

This Big Green tractor is a favorite on the farm or in the yard.  My husband has a John Deere tractor that gets a lot of use around our homestead and helping our children with their tasks at their homes.  This cute card was created with a retired watercolor stamp set and circle punches to create the wheels.  A black candy dot marks the tires’ center.   Is there a farmer or an outdoorsman in your life?  This would be a great card to create or purchase for him.

I love the quilted design of this card with the natural burlap and strong tree for a Father’s Day card.  The quilted design is created with coordinating designer series paper and card stock.  The tree was created with a stamped image and watercoloring to give it a muted look.  This is certainly not your typical card, and is absolutely beautiful!

This “ToolMan” card is perfect for the dad that enjoys working with a variety of tools. Whether he is a carpenter, mechanic, or man of all trades, this is a perfect card for this dad!  The background panel is an embossed piece of foil to highlight the tools and embellishments. You may notice a red tint on the foil, this is the reflection of my shirt when I was taking the pictures and not part of the actual card.

This card features a vintage automobile and is created with colors: cajun craze, soft suede, and crushed curry.  The inside of this card is stamped with “Grandpa” as an alternative to the “Father’s Day” sentiment.  Wouldn’t your Grandfather love this card?

Where are the aviation enthusiasts?  This is a perfect card for pilots, mechanics, or those that enjoy aviation.  This unique card is created with white acrylic paint and a mix of blue dye to create the clouds.  A field of pines sets the stage for this high flying card!

Another BBQ style card is here using the punch art piecing technique.  Check out the hamburger with sesame seeds, layers of delicious fixins, and topped off with some crinkled potato chips!  This meal is placed on a tray and a gingham tablecloth for the backyard BBQ or picnic.  Such a fun card for a dad!

This unique lattice card with orange corrugated panel features stenciled text and three stars.  Such a fabulous way to let dad know how special he is to everyone!

This fishing vest card is perfect for any dad or loved one that enjoys spending time on the lake, in the boat, or camping.  This card is not focused on just “Father’s Day”; therefore, this card can be used for birthdays or other special days, too.  This card is created with a gate fold and buttons closure.  The pockets are filled with items needed when out fishing on the river or lake.

Final Thoughts

Finding the perfect card for Father’s Day can be a challenge when at the card shop.  An even bigger challenge is finding a card that no other dad will receive.  This is the perfect reason to create a handmade card, one made with love, to give to your dad and other special guys.  When you are not able to create your own card, a handmade card from another person is second best.  Visit my Etsy shop to purchase any of these cards you see today!

Have a blessed day! ~ Annette
