Creative Card Challenge

New Challenge

Are you ready for a challenge?  I was so excited to see the monthly challenge, as each one allows me an opoportunity to stretch my imagination and creativity! This one was NO different!!

As a member of the Crafty Collaborations international team, we were presented with a card design challenge and asked to create a unique card following specific criteria.  Well . . . as you have guessed, we were all up for this challenge and are excited to bring you our creative, unique cards!

Challenge Accepted!

When I first saw the card design challenge, I was inspired to pull some of my favorite designer series paper (DSP) and give it a go.

The first card I created (featured image) showcases the Hand Penned DSP.  When I decided to use this paper, I had several options because of the double sided designs.  Each piece is beautiful, so I had to choose my colors carefully to highlight how unique this DSP is in the suite and still meet the challenge requirements.

Highlighting the DSP

After I figured out the DSP dimensions (2 in x 2 in), I knew I needed to have a little background to allow the DSP to “pop”.  I decided to go with a unique basket weave, and emboss the panel with the checks and dots folders.

Final Touches

With the card nearly designed, I needed to add a sentiment and some embellishments.  Since I did not have many Get Well and Sympathy cards, I decided I should use sentiments from Peaceful Moments stamp set to finish this design.

As you can see, I was able to change up the DSP, ribbon, and embellishments to suit the occasion for these cards.  Each card has a little sparkle to create a little somthing unique for the recipient.  To finish off the cards, I decided to create a matching envelope.  Who doesn’t love receiving a beautiful card with a beautiful envelope?  What do you think?

Time to Hop Along

WOW!!  Just like that, some beautiful cards to share with friends and family!  Creating cards is fun, but sharing them brings joy and smiles to others and is even more rewarding for me.
