Creative Inspiration in the Box

Around the middle of each month, I look forward to receiving the monthly Paper Pumpkin!  This month was extra special since the focus centered on the 2020-2022 and 2021-2023 In Colors.

It turns out that others are just as excited!!  Stampin’ Up demonstrators across the globe are coming together to share their creativity and inspire others with alternative projects created with the Paper Pumpkin kit materials.

Getting Started

When I open my box, I first sort the contents: cards, embellishments, and envelopes, so I can easily put the cards together.  Although there are stamp pads in the kit, I pull my larger stamp pads to use, so I can save the kit’s ink pad(s) for travel or gifts for team members and friends.  I do the same with the adhesive and dimensionals.  It is always nice to have extra materials to use on the alternative cards I create.

I always make one card as designed by the creators, then I start doing my own creation.  The kit instructions are very easy to follow in text and images, but I get to pull in other items to create my own designs.

Time for Alternatives

After completing the prepared designs, I take a peek at the alternatives shared on the back of the direction brochure.  These images give me some additional ideas to create.  However, oftentimes, they are a spring board to something else.

With this specific kit, I wanted to try some fancy folds.  I usually make a traditional panel card with layers, but I wanted to try something new, and I am glad I did!

Fancy Folds

I saw a card with an interlocking gate fold that I thought woud be fabulous with this kit.  I created the “You are Amazing” card (above) using this fold.  I also added an additional panel for sentiment writing inside this card.

Then I created a card with the cascading fold using the new in colors (Thanks). I love how the velumn and colored branches highlight the cascade effect.  It turned out perfect!

Check out the many cards that I created with this kit.  Can you believe there are still leftover materials to make more cards? I’ll have to save those for another day.

Time to Hop Along

WOW!!  Just like that, some beautiful cards to share with friends and family!  Creating cards is fun, but sharing them brings joy and smiles to others and is even more rewarding for me.

Now it’s time to check out the rest of the team’s creations!!  Start your trip around the world to discover how others were inspired by this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit!!

Supply List

I have included the materials that I used for the cards created here, but know that the base of the created cards comes from the June 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit.  If you’d like to use the “Expressions in Ink” suite, this will provide the same effect as created in the cards.

NOTE ~ the June Paper Pumpkin kit coordinates well with the “Expressions in Ink” suite to offer additional creative ideas.  Although the full June Paper Pumpkin is not available, refills (all materials except the stamps) are available in my online store.

Great alternative cards with this months kit. I love how you used the ‘leaf’ die cut elements on the yellow card with some stamping.
